are currently on R1/R2 Visas, serving as missionaries in Mesquite, Nevada, USA. With a call of bringing unity among believers, they dedicate 40% of their time visiting, encouraging and praying for the pastors of the fourteen churches in this community of 22,000 people. The other 60% of their time is spent supporting Mesquite Worship Center where Barbara is the Executive Pastor and James is the Leader of Prayer Ministry. Barbara is also fulfilling an Itinerant Ministry position with Graceway Church, speaking once a month.
Barbara was raised in a small south-western Manitoba farming community. At the age of 15, when her parents divorced she moved with her mother and siblings to Brandon, where she attended Harrison High School. After graduation, Barbara attended the University of Saskatchewan and obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1978. She subsequently earned her CMA designation in 1982.
At the age of 30, as a recently divorced single mom in Toronto, Barbara finally understood the difference between religion and what it meant to have a personal relationship with God. Since accepting Jesus Christ into her heart as Lord, Barbara Mikus has spent the last thirty-six years learning how to walk in this personal relationship and trusting God in all areas of her life.
As the founder and president of Ramah Consulting Ltd, Barbara has accepted God’s calling on her life to bring positive life change in women’s lives. Her desire is to bring healing and restoration to a hurting world by mentoring and equipping women in various disciplines, including learning how to trust God in their relationships and in their workplace.
By complimenting her career as successful executive leader with the Word of God, Barbara has been able to use biblical principles to assist companies through transition, facilitate corporate training, as well as fulfill international consulting assignments. When not consulting in the marketplace, Barbara continues to fulfill her true passion by being available to speak at women’s conferences around the world.
“Learning to trust without paddling my own canoe continues to be one of the most difficult, yet rewarding times of my life” – Barbara Mikus
Living a life of total and complete surrender to Jesus Christ, through trust and not control, is encouraged by James (her husband of 28 years), two sons (and daughter-in-law) and four grandchildren.
Barbara’s husband, business partner and ministry associate fulfills his “God called” ambassadorial role within all his positions of influence whether it be as part of the leadership team of the Ripple Centre, in his consulting practice or in his neighborhood.
After serving 21 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, Jim has complimented this military experience with an additional 20 years in procurement & logistics. Currently retired, James is able to share real life examples of how God shone His light through him to become a mentoring light to the world.
